Goodwood Revival has always been one of my favourite events of the year. This year, returning with a camera in hand felt particularly special.
After stepping away from photography during pregnancy and the early months of motherhood, I was ready to get back into the rhythm of shooting. I wanted to feel that creative instinct again — the feeling of walking into an environment and immediately seeing photographs everywhere.
Goodwood Revival delivered exactly that.
I was there shooting for LANX, creating imagery around the event, but I also made time to photograph the people, fashion, cars and atmosphere for myself. Goodwood is one of those rare events where the environment does so much of the storytelling for you.
The vintage cars, beautifully considered clothing, characters, movement and details create an incredible visual landscape. As an outdoor photographer, these are the environments I naturally gravitate towards places where people, product, landscape and atmosphere can come together to tell a story.
Spending time simply people-watching with my camera reminded me why I love photographing people in real environments. Rather than creating something overly posed, I’m always looking for those small moments that give an image character: the way someone moves, the details of an outfit, a fleeting expression or the atmosphere around them.
It was also a great reminder of how much I enjoy photographing heritage, automotive and lifestyle brands. Goodwood sits naturally within the visual world I’ve been developing through my commercial photography combining British heritage, fashion, adventure, craftsmanship and the outdoors.
For me, returning to Goodwood wasn’t just about getting back to work. It was about getting that creative spark back.
I came home with a camera full of photographs, plenty of new ideas and a renewed motivation for the next chapter of my work as a Dorset-based outdoor and lifestyle photographer.
And after a year away from the camera, it felt very good to be back.
